THE CHIME: SCORING THE CITY
a sensor jukebox; instead of recording sounds that naturally occur in cities, the installation captures the space between the noise by creating an electronic wind chime
the structure is made straight from the dunescape by flushing a particular bacteria through the loose sand, which causes a biological reaction whereby the sand turns into sandstone; the initial reactions are finished within 24 hours, though it would take about a week to saturate the sand enough to make the structure habitable

created by commercial welder scott parenteau, the walking pod is a robotic geodesic dome propelled forward by 12 creepy crab-like legs; it runs on 800 watts of power, assisted by a roof-mounted solar panel to trickle charge its batteries, as well as a wind turbine for a little extra boost
